The Software Developer works with the in-house project team to build business information systems for our clients utilizing the .NET Framework. The Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced technical software solutions that meet the requirements, and provides support for production issues.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Write code that is consistent with Provato coding standards, and implement software solutions
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies associated with the Provato technology stack
  • Troubleshoot and debug application issues related to performance, defects, and application errors
  • Configure applications to work with the client’s infrastructure
  • Perform smoke testing
  • Estimate design and development effort
  • Suggest design, implementation, and process improvements to the architect or manager
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, developers, and business analysts in conceptualizing and developing software solutions that meet business needs
  • Liaise with network administrator in resolving problems with software systems
  • Conduct research on legacy systems, software products, and emerging technologies in support of development efforts
  • Builds good cross functional relationships with other members of the project services team
  • Execute projects with minimal oversight

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or university) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience: 3 to 7 years related experience

Required Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office products (Expert in Word, Visio, and Excel)
  • Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio
  • Mastery of C#
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery/AJAX
  • Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Strong knowledge of ASP.NET MVC (or comparable MVC/Web technologies)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Query Writing
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Data Modeling
  • Strong knowledge of LINQ

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server, a plus
  • Experience with Entity Framework, a plus
